Standard Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every KAVA-YU member regardless of the package chosen. They govern registration, contributions, grace periods, claims and the obligations that come with membership. Please read each clause carefully before registering.

Your Obligations as a Member

01

By registering for Kava, the member confirms that they meet the minimum age requirement and have provided accurate personal information. Membership is open only to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Kids/toddlers must be above 1 year — NOT under.

02

All members must complete the registration process and provide the required Know Your Customer (KYC) information, including identification and personal details. Kava reserves the right to verify the information provided during registration.

03

Members are required to make monthly contributions based on the package and cover selected. Contributions must be paid consistently in order to maintain an active membership status and eligibility for services.

04

After registration, a grace period applies before the account becomes active. For members and dependents below 70 years, the grace period is four (4) months from the date of registration and approval. If a dependent is added after approval, the grace period shall be 8 months. For any member or dependent above 70 years, the grace period is six (6) months.

05

Members must declare any known pre-existing medical conditions affecting themselves or their dependents at the time of registration. Failure to disclose may result in denial of services, cancellation of benefits, or refund of premiums within the stipulated grace period.

06

Members must ensure that all information provided is accurate and truthful. Providing false or misleading information may result in suspension, termination of membership, or denial of services. The BULL Package pre-qualification is based on consistency in the services payment plan.

07

If a member fails to pay monthly contributions for two (2) consecutive months, the account will be considered in default.

08

A defaulted account will not be entitled to any Kava services or benefits until properly reactivated. Reactivation requires paying the registration fee again. Upon reactivation, the account is treated as a new registration and the applicable grace period will apply again.

09

Reporting a claim after burial shall be treated as fraud, or the next of kin shall be surcharged for failure to report the incident as soon as possible.

10

Services provided will depend on the package selected and the active membership status at the time a claim is launched. Deaths outside Kenya are excluded unless the family ferries the body within the country at their own cost.

11

Kava reserves the right to verify all information, update membership records and enforce these terms to ensure fairness, transparency and sustainability of the program. Individuals over 100 years of age cannot be covered or registered.

12

Death resulting from participation in unlawful activities — including drug abuse, alcoholism, terrorism, or riots resulting from political, social, or economic grievances — are NOT honored.

13

By registering for Kava, the member confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions and accept the obligations related to membership and contributions.

The package for parents and in-laws covers biological parents only. Others may be categorized under sole registration.
